Quests 2 | Game Creator 2

About Quests 2 | Game Creator 2 – Unity Editor Tool & Plugin

Unity Quest System and Mission Manager

Quests 2 For Game Creator 2 is a Unity quest system for tracking main and side-quests with linear Tasks, optional missions, parallel missions, and branching subtasks that can lead to different outcomes. Each Quest is a separate asset built from a tree-like Task structure, while the Journal, HUD, Navigation Compass, Minimap or Radar, and Floating Indicators provide ways to track progress and guide characters toward objectives.

Quest Progression and Tracking

A Quest can contain Tasks and Subtasks arranged into interconnected progression paths, allowing a mission to remain linear or branch into different completion outcomes. Multiple Quests can be tracked simultaneously, which supports projects with concurrent main and side-quests as well as optional objectives.

World positions can be defined as Points of Interest. These POIs can be displayed automatically on the Minimap, while Floating Indicators can appear over them even when they are off-screen. A Navigation Compass example is also included for directing characters toward objectives.

Journal and Visual Scripting

The Journal component can be attached to any object so that object can track Quests. This allows missions to be assigned to the player or to other characters. Quest progression is integrated with Game Creator 2 Visual Scripting, including actions such as creating rewards after quest completion and triggering events when a Task becomes active.

Quest progress can be saved by adding the Journal memory to a Remember component. The package also provides tools for creating custom UI skins, alongside UI templates for the HUD, Journal, Navigation Compass, Minimap or Radar, and Floating Indicators.

Requirements and Compatibility

Quests 2 | Game Creator 2 requires Unity 6.3+ and Game Creator 2. It is compatible with all Game Creator 2 modules. The Built-in Render Pipeline, URP, and HDRP are compatible with Unity 6000.6.0f1, Unity 6000.5.8f1, and Unity 6000.3.0f1. All included examples and learning materials use URP, so URP is required to explore those samples out of the box.

The package includes source code, UI templates, and multiple examples for learning from and adapting within a project.
