Unity Engine Sound Tool for Vehicles

Realistic Engine Sounds 2 - Pro Edition combines 50 complete engine sound packs with an engine sound controller and vehicle audio effects. The engine packs contain 2,000 WAV files dedicated to engine sounds, with recordings for exterior and interior listening positions. An interactive engine sound tester scene provides a basic vehicle simulation for previewing dynamic RPM, engine load, transmission behavior, and camera-dependent sound changes.

Engine Audio and Sound Controller

The controller links engine audio to vehicle behavior and can change the sound according to the camera position around the vehicle. Included intake and exhaust sounds allow different audio characteristics from the front and rear of a vehicle. The controller also provides aggressiveness SFX, valve SFX synchronized with engine RPM, engine-load wobble, wind noise, reverse gear audio, and an optional reverse-gear warning beep.

Additional Vehicle Sound Effects

Turbo, Supercharger, Muffler crackle, Straight Cut Gearbox, and Gear changing SFX are supplied with controller scripts and prefabs that can be added to engine sound prefabs. Skid sound clips are also included, but they do not have controller scripts. The audio controller has configurable optimization behavior that can pause or delete audio sources that cannot be heard because of their volume or distance from the audio listener; this behavior can also be disabled.

Vehicle Physics Compatibility

Pre-made compatibility is provided for Edy’s Vehicle Physics, Realistic Car Controller, Realistic Car Controller Pro, NWH2 Vehicle Physics, Vehicle Physics Pro, Universal Vehicle Controller, FGear Vehicle Physics, IRDS, Arcade Car Controller, Realistic Traffic Controller, Simple Motorcycle Physics Pro, Simple Motocross Physics, Arcade Bike Physics Pro, Racing Game Starter Kit, Arcade Vehicle Physics, and Multiversal Vehicle Controller Pro. For supported controllers, the audio prefabs can be attached directly to the vehicle workflow.
